When two or more vectors a,b,c... have a sum equal to a given vector x, we call a, b, c... the components of x.
Similarly if we write x=(p,q) then we can also say that x=(p,0)+(0,q), so (p,0) and (0,q) are the components of x.
Similarly if we write x=(p,q) then we can also say that x=(p,0)+(0,q), so (p,0) and (0,q) are the components of x.
