Composition   (English)

Definition (advanced level)

A composite function, or the composition of two functions, is the function made by doing them one after the other; taking the result of one function as the argument of the other.

Definition (undergraduate level)

Of two functions f : A → B and g : B → C : the function g °f : A → C defined by g °f(a) = g(f(a)) .
