The name of a special scale of temperatures found on a particular kind of thermometer. The freezing point of water is marked at 32 degrees Fahrenheit(32°F) and the boiling point of water is marked at 212 degrees Fahrenheit(212°F).
A Celsius (or Centigrade) thermometer is more widely used nowadays. One degree Fahrenheit is equal in size to about 0.5555556 degrees Celsius, and zero Fahrenheit falls at -17.77778 degrees on the Celsius scale.
