Viewing Mathematical Notation

This site uses MathML to display formulae. We recommend you view them using Internet Explorer on Windows or a Gecko browser such as Netscape or Mozilla on other systems. Whichever you use, start by checking you are running the latest version.

Internet Explorer on Windows

Download and install the free Design Science MathPlayer plugin

Netscape (v7 and above)

When viewing a mathML page, a dialog box appears suggesting you download mathematics fonts from the Mozilla MathML site. Follow the instructions on that page. The fonts you need are dependent on the kind of computer you use.

Add an m-button

In Netscape, Mozilla, or Internet Explorer, drag the following link to your links toolbar: m-button to your browser links bar. Internet explorer will tell you that 'You are adding a link which may not be safe'. It is safe, so please continue! (If in doubt, View > Source of this page to check it.)

Clicking on the m-button link calls up a mathematics search bar which is available to you no matter what page you are viewing.

Accessing the graph views

In order to view the concept graphs, you must install the free Java Plugin. You need to do this even if you have a version of Internet Explorer preconfigured with Microsoft's java.
